I’ve tried reading eBooks. On my computer, on my cell phone. I’ve looked at all of Sony’s versions of eBooks. It’s just never worked for me. But I’m a bit of a geek, and thought perhaps I should give audio-books a try. Maybe I would listen to them in some circumstances where I can’t pull out a book. Where would that be? On my bicycle; that would be dangerous. Hmmm, not sure off hand.

When I was ten, I borrowed an audio recording (LPs in those days) of Tolkien’s songs and poetry from my local library. I can still hear “The road goes ever on and on down from the door where it began.” Another recording had Tolkien himself reading his poetry. Pleasant memories. Maybe that is what brings me back to trying audio books.
