About

John Miedema is a reader, essayist and information professional. He is the author of Slow Reading, published by Litwin Books. He is a Senior IT Specialist with IBM, and a recent graduate of the Master of Library and Information Science program at the University of Western Ontario. At his website, John writes about books, libraries, technology, politics and culture. He also develops nifty book software such as the OpenBook WordPress plugin. Articles on the software were published in Information Standards Quarterly and the Code4Lib journal.

John lives with his wife and two teenagers in Southwestern Ontario. He is currently on assignment in Ottawa.
