Hi DWW, OpenBook 3 work is commencing soon. A primary enhancement will be the ability to store covers and data locally. This will completely solve the lag time for calls to Open Library. I see you’re still working on this. That is great ’cause I really like this plugin. I do have issue with the speed, but I’m not sure with it is my ISP, server, or the plugin. Or even the way I’ve got the plugin configured.

Sadly I’ve been so busy I’ve not even had time to read any books in months. Hope Spring/Summer provides the relaxing time I need to get some pleasure reading in.

Hi zb1000 – you will be able to include the description (and other Open Library fields) next to the cover (or just about anywhere else) in the version 2 of OpenBook. Working on it …

Hello, i discovered OpenBook Plugin and i think i will use it in my coming soon website.
But i did not found how to include the description field next to the cover.
It would be great to have the ability to do that.

I use your OpenBook and really appreciate the work you’ve done to create it. I do have css skills, and keeping that in its own file would be great!

One thing to think about maybe, as a feature for a rewrite: W3 standards compliance. The markup generated by OpenBook (at least beta 1.7.1) isn’t XHTML compliant as is.
